A Message from the Principal
October 18, 2021
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
It was great to see so many parents at our Fall Festival Pep Rally this morning! The weather was perfect for our band performances and our grade level cheer contest. Mrs. Cerda’s 3rd grade students won the HFCS Spirit Stick for their great cheer:
We rock and we rule!
We are the third graders of this school.
We have courage, we have pride,
We have heart inside.
We fill our brains with power and knowledge,
We’re as smart as the kids in college!
Last Friday’s Diocesan In-Service included Mass celebrated by Bishop Olson, and Mrs. Lisa Griffith received her 15-year Diocesan Service Pin. Our teachers went to a variety of professional development sessions including topics on classical education, Catholic identity, nature studies, differentiated learning strategies, cyberbullying, and growth mindset
.
My thanks go to the families that responded to the HFCS Parent Survey, your comments will help shape our new 5-year strategic plan. I look forward to continuing our conversation about strategic planning at our next Home & School Association meeting on November 3rd.
Fall Festival is next Sunday and I am so glad that we are able to gather as a community to celebrate our parish and school life together this year.
Blessings,
Ann Walters
Principal

From the Dads' Club
Holy Family Dads & Friends-
We have some important volunteer opportunities coming up, including our biggest day of the fall, Fall Festival on Oct. 24. We’re in charge of preparing and serving the bulk of the food for the event so we need lots of help. I encourage everyone to volunteer for a shift if you can, and if you can work longer I promise it’s one of the more enjoyable work days you’ll have. Let me know if you have questions about any of the below items:
(1) Tuesday, Oct. 19 there is a VIRTUS Safe Environment training session. You need to be up to date on VIRTUS training in order to volunteer at Fall Festival. To register for this session or if you have questions about this process or the requirements, please contact Star Fedor at the Parish Offices at 817.737.6768 x 122 or email her at sfedor@holyfamilyfw.org. If you’re already up to date with VIRTUS, you can disregard.
(2) Saturday, Oct. 23 from 9 AM - 1PM, we will be helping get the field set up for Fall Festival. This involves moving and setting up tables, tents, booths, etc. If you can assist, please sign up using the link below for Fall Festival volunteers.
(3) Sunday, Oct. 24 is the big day. We need help setting up before the event and cleaning up after it, and we need a team of 6-10 people working the grill from 1-5. I know everyone is being asked to work in different capacities at Fall Festival, so we’ve split the day into shifts that will hopefully accommodate busy schedules. If you can pitch in for one or more shifts, or help with setup or cleanup, please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c48adab2ea0f94-2021
(4) Finally, if you’re going to be helping at the grill and want to look the part, you can order a Dads’ Club Holy Smoke Grill shirt like the one many of the “veteran” dads will be sporting. They are bright gold dry fit tees and cost $20 (see attached image). If you want a shirt, please reply to this email with your size and we’ll be back in touch with details for payment and pickup.
Thanks in advance for all your help. I hope to see everyone next week.
