PantherFest Rescheduled!

Due to current guidelines, we will not be able to have the event this year. Rolling Road Golf Club is holding the date of Saturday, March 27, 2021 for this school year's Pantherfest!

HSA Used Uniform Update

The used uniform store is open now until Wednesday, September 23rd at 9pm. Please click on the link to order.

Orders will be fulfilled on Thursday, September 24th and sent home with your child(ren). Payment is due upon receipt of the items and should be returned to school. Please make checks payable to: RSPS HSA. For virtual students, coordination of pick-up of items requested will go through the office. Inventory is limited, we will do our best to fulfill any and all requests.

The store will open again October 11-20 in preparation for the start of winter uniform on November 1st.

Uniform donations? The HSA will collect uniforms from Monday, Sept 21-Thursday Sept 24th. Please place clean items in a garbage bag labeled "HSA Used Uniforms" with the date and leave them in the marked bin in the front of the school.

Family Income Surveys-ACTION REQUIRED

The Archdiocese of Baltimore will be using google form survey to collect family income data for the 20-21 school year. This safe and secure electronic income survey will automatically collect a family’s data as they complete the survey. Thus eliminating the need for a school to enter collected data into Powerschool.

The digital income survey will allow us to collect both the free and reduced numbers for each county. These numbers will not only serve for the Title I submissions, but also can be used for textbook funding, grant requests, and we will now be able to provide accurate reporting of our free and reduced eligibility at the individual school and county level (county of student residence).

Collecting family income data is a requirement of MSDE and we must do so annually.

Every AOB school is required to use the following link in lieu of the paper income survey usually distributed to families with in the first few days of school.

Each family will need to complete one survey per student. The survey takes approximate 2-4 minutes to complete. Income surveys must completed by October 15, 2020.

RSPS Health Form for Students in Grades 3 and 6

In an effort to keep our students healthy and safe, we ask that families of 3rd and 6th grade students please complete the RSPS Health Form with any health updates concerning your child. (New families already completed this form and do not need to complete again. Some families may have already received the form in last week's Wednesday folder.) Upon completion, please be certain to sign the form and return it to the school nurse either by sending the form in with your child or emailing the form to Please contact the Health Room if you have any questions or concerns.

HSPT Registration

The HSPT Online Registration system is now open for students to begin registering.

The test will be administered onsite during the school day on December 2nd.

Distance learning students can come into the building to take the test and will take the test in a separate classroom while following all social distancing protocols. The test will take approximately 3 hours to administer.

Instrumental Band Program for Students in Grades 4-8

We had a wonderful virtual instrumental band demonstration for all 4th through 8th grades on Tuesday, September 15th after morning announcements. Students watched the attached video about the woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments available to play in the band.

RSPS Spirit Wear

For new families and old, spirit wear is a day that kids can come out of uniform yet in their spirit wear of RSPS. It can be any of our theme tshirts (past theme t-shirts are OK to wear for September as we await our 2020-2021 theme shirts), or items from our spirit wear shop.

Which FYI the spirit wear shop is a FUNraiser for our school community! There are tons of amazing items and you can even customize them!

Wee Praise

Nursery & Wee Praise

Nursery and Wee-Praise are currently unavailable during the 10:30 Mass. They will resume as soon as it is safe to do so!

Nursery is for children approximately 1 year old to 3 years old. Held during 10:30am Sunday Masses October thru May. The children have an opportunity to play while parents attend Mass. Snack is provided. The Nursery Coordinator is assisted by middle and high school teens. This is a free service of the church.

Wee Praise is currently at home. When you register you will receive supplies! It is a fun and structured Sunday School Program for children at least 3½, 4 & 5 years old (not yet in Kindergarten). This is a great way to bond with your preschooler over the Gospel and learn about God! There is a $40 registration fee.

This week we have Stratosphere Social planned for Wednesday, Sept 23rd in Sykesville.

The event will run from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. RSPS willl get 10% back on all amusement purchases made during that time. No flyer needed, but make sure you mention RSPS to make your purchase benefit the school!


Policies and Procedures

Arrival and Dismissal Safety

In order to keep our students, faculty, staff, and families safe please adhere to the following:

  • all morning arrival traffic should enter from Chatham Rd (please do not skip traffic lanes by cutting through the parking lot)
  • only vehicles dropping off students in Grades 3-8 should exit via Paulskirk Drive in the morning
  • all traffic for dismissal should enter and exit via Chatham Road
  • drive through the parking lot at a safe speed (5 mph or less)
  • follow Maryland regulations for children in car and booster seats
  • children should be seated properly and buckled until the car is no longer moving
  • observe parking lot signage and staff instructions

Out of State Travel Policy

In an effort to reduce the possibility of introducing the COVID-19 virus into a school community, RSPS established a policy applicable to both students and employees which requires notification be provided when individuals are traveling out of state to areas defined as high risk jurisdictions based upon positivity rates of the destination.

Procedural Points:

  1. Students (attending in person) and staff (working on campus in person) are advised if they intend to travel to a state with a positivity rate for COVID-19 of 10% or greater during the period of their stay, notification of such intention must be communicated to the principal. For purposes of this guidance, the positivity rate should be based upon the average rate as determined for the period of the entire stay. Those traveling will be required to quarantine upon their return until such time as either they provide evidence of a negative test result for COVID-19 and are asymptomatic or they complete an entire 14 day quarantine.

  2. Students in quarantine may participate in the remote learning program.

Students Who are Quarantining

If students must quarantine for possible COVID-19 exposure, they may participate in classes as distance learners until they have been cleared to return to school.

VIRTUS Training for all Volunteers

Required training for all volunteers

Virtus is used throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore as part of the child protection requirements for all volunteers with substantial contact with minors. New families received Virtus registration instructions in their Enrollment packet. Once the Virtus process has been completed, volunteers will receive a volunteer card to wear while volunteering at school. Please contact Joanne Dewey at if you need further assistance or have any questions.

Due to COVID-19 policies, visitors and volunteers will not be allowed in the building until further notice. We welcome volunteer service that can be done from home.

In-Person Early Childhood Education Teacher

Instructional Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of the classroom teachers to plan and implement instruction in concert with the school’s mission and vision
  • Participate in the active supervision of students at all times, and supporting classroom management using school-wide positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) standards
  • Plan and organize optional classroom or outdoor activities as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other teachers, assistants, staff and administration
  • Flexibility regarding job requirements and willingness to assist as needed
  • Assist students with remedial and re-teaching activities
  • Lead instructional small groups independently
  • Creatively implementing different learning strategies in large and small group settings
