Evers Park Elementary School, Evers Parkway, Denton, TX, USA
CAMP INVENTION
Camp Invention is returning to Denton ISD this summer for children entering 1st through 6th grade! This inspiring, weeklong summer experience provides opportunities for open-ended, hands-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and more! Taking on a variety of exhilarating activities each day, children have fun collaborating with friends, thinking creatively and inventing their own solutions to real-world challenges.
Program dates are June 5-9, 2023 from 8:30am - 3:30pm at Alexander Elementary School in Denton ISD.
This year's program, Wonder, is an action-packed and confidence-boosting program where young innovators will:
- Design and build their own mini skate park, customize their mini skateboard, and practice persistence as they take on ramps, bowls, rails and more
- Transform a robot into a one-of-a-kind stuffie while exploring genetics, finding inspiration in nature and taking pride in their individuality
- Take on the role of event planner as they design a grand celebration, invent a Party Assistant, and create a light-up party hat and bubble art banner
- Launch their own pop-up business while building entrepreneurship skills, making smart financial choices, using green energy and attracting customers
Registration is currently $25 off with code 'SUM25' until March 30. Register before 3/30 to lock-in the discount!

REMINDERS
Pick-Up:
While we encourage you to not continually change the way your child gets home each day, we understand that there are times this cannot be avoided. Please make sure you are contacting the front office with these changes prior to 2:00 PM. Any time after that, makes it very difficult to guarantee that information will get to the teacher in time. The best method of making this change, is by sending the teacher a note or email the day prior so that they have time to read it.
Cartags:
Any parent who comes through the carline for pick up after school, must have had a cartag assigned to their student and visibly displayed so that staff inputting numbers as parents arrive are able to do this efficiently. Additionally, please do not change lanes once you turn into the two lane drive. Numbers are input based on the lane you drive into. Switching lanes will impact our pick up system and may delay your child being brought out to you.
Arrival Time:
If you want your child to eat breakfast, they must arrive between 7:15 AM - 7:30 AM. This will allow them time to eat their breakfast prior to the tardy bell ringing.
Levantar:

Parents are Welcome!
We are excited to get our 2022-23 school year started! It is important to us to connect with our families throughout the school year. We want to provide as many opportunities as we can for parents to be involved on campus this year. Here are the many ways you will be able to visit us during the year:
· Meet the Teacher Night
· Volunteering
· Classroom parties and learning celebrations
· Lunch on campus with your child
· Curriculum Nights/STEM Night
· Fine Arts performances
· PTA-sponsored family engagement events
· Field Trips
· Field Day
In order to allow teachers to focus their supervision safely on students and avoid large crowds in the hallways as children arrive, we will not allow visitors to walk their children to classrooms in the morning. However, because we know it is important to you to get to know your children’s teachers, take fun first day pictures and to know where your child’s classroom is, we are allowing parents of students in all grade levels to walk their children to class on Thursday, August 11th, and Friday, August 12th. In addition, our COMM class and Kinder parents may also walk their children to class on Monday, August 15th. Please bring your photo ID and be prepared to follow all campus sign-in procedures.
We are looking forward to partnering with you and having a great year together!
