Friday at 4:00

December 2, 2022

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Our students are spreading holiday cheer, discussing interesting plans to see far-away family members, and anxiously awaiting the moment they can participate in their favorite holiday traditions. Our students are also keenly aware of the fact that not all children are as lucky as they are when it comes to the holidays. Our annual Holiday Toy Drive is always a success because of the generosity of our families, and we know we can count on you to continue the tradition of bringing big smiles to those children most needy in our community.

Have a wonderful weekend, and you can expect our next edition of Friday at 4:00 in one week!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Rivera

5th Grade Character Analysis Project

The fifth-grade students worked really hard on their character analysis posters. This novel study project was completed after finishing "Refugee" by Alan Grat. Students were asked to investigate and identify impactful quotes, physical descriptions, character values, external challenges, strengths, weaknesses, symbols, and internal changes over time. We are so proud of the final products, but most importantly, in awe of the collaboration, communication, and presentation skills displayed by the students.

STEM Class is Growing Great Things in the Lab!

We are headed to our first harvest. The students learn about indoor sustainability, urban living, and the components of an aeroponic system. They also learn about the health benefits that these herbs and vegetables provide.

The following is what each class is growing in the garden, also referred to as the Tower Garden, in our STEM class.

2nd: Citrus Basil

3rd: Picolino Cucumber

Reading & Science Lesson Integration

Some of our second-grade students had a blast working outside as they researched, explored, and recorded observations about different kinds of tree bark. Check out the fun photos of a great outdoor lesson!
