Safe House
Safe House is coming to your neighborhood!
Take a peek at our new program!
Hello friends! I hope that you are all staying safe and enjoying the hot days of summer. I wanted to give you a first glimpse of our new program "Safe House" which will be launched in the next two weeks. More kids are home this summer and with COVID there are certainly more restrictions. We feel this is a perfect time to bring awareness on underage drinking while providing a safe platform for parents to openly say that they do not provide alcohol to minors in their home. Click on the link below to pledge that your house is a Safe House. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your summer.

What is Safe House?
Teens may not be able to legally purchase beer, wine or liquor, but according to a survey conducted by the AMA, many teens get access to alcohol from adults they know: • 1 out of 3 teens said they could easily get alcohol from their parents. • 2 out of 5 teens said they could get alcohol from a friend’s parents. • 1 out of 4 teens have been to a party where adults allowed underage drinking.
“Social Hosting” is the term used to describe any situation where an adult allows underage teens to drink alcohol. Several states, including Rhode Island, have laws in place aimed specifically at social hosts. Adults who provide alcohol to underage teens are facing serious consequences including: Heavy fines, jail time, probation, revoked/suspended driver’s license.
The Lincoln Prevention Coalition has created “SAFE House” as a parent-parent campaign that works to reduce the amount of parents in a community who are providing teens with alcohol and/or allowing teens to drink in their homes. By pledging, you agree that you will not provide teens alcohol and will not willingly allow teens to drink alcohol at your home. Please log on to www.safehouselpc.com to pledge! Be sure to add your address for your FREE window cling. Proudly display your window cling to help spread awareness! Only your name and the town you reside in will appear on the Safe House list. Your address will remain confidential and not appear on the site.
