Langston's Letters
October 3 - October 7
A Note from the Principal
Dear Langston Hughes Family,
Last week we began our beginning-of-the-year student screenings. Students began with the iReady Reading screenings. This data will allow teachers to see exactly where students are as readers and design instruction that is customized to support their individual growth. Teachers have also conducted one-on-one reading assessments to determine a student's independent reading level. Similar assessments in mathematics will begin this week. When the assessments are completed you will receive your child's data. I will host a virtual meeting to explain what the results mean, how your child's needs will be met in school, and what you can do at home to help your child meet their instructional goals.
Until then, please make sure your child is present and punctual so they can take their assessments without rushing.
Have a wonderful week!
