A Message from the Principal
Believe it or not, it's time for us to begin thinking about NEXT YEAR and what courses our students will be taking. Course requests for 2021-22 will begin in the next two weeks and last the entire month of February. Counselors will be going to individual grade-level Advisory classes to engage students in the process. SPREAD THE WORD. Students need to be attending Advisory to take part in the course registration process. Otherwise, they'll miss out on being included for next year's classes.
Week of Feb 8 = Class of '22 (rising Seniors)
Week of Feb 8 = Class of '23 (rising Juniors)
Week of Feb 22 = Class of '24 (rising Sophomores)
March 1 = Class of '25 (incoming Freshmen)
You'll want to begin looking at the 2021-22 Course Description Guide as soon as it's posted next week to familiarize yourself with potential selections. Refresh your memories regarding graduation requirements. Remember to look closely at the pre-requisite courses necessary for admission to certain classes, as well as the age level of the course target.
The Course Description Guide will be posted on the WPHS website (under Academics header). wpsdk12.org/whps
We have many courses that intentionally sequence together in particular interest-areas for post-secondary learning. As well - take a look at the several "pathways" which lead to certification and immediate eligibility for high paying jobs in the work-force upon graduation.
Talk to your counselors and begin setting yourselves up for success with the courses you complete today. We look forward to seeing what you request! This is how we staff our school for next year and how we organize our semester course offerings. We need to know what you'll be taking. So, don't delay. When it's your turn to register - get after it.
Until next week.

High SChool Parent Teacher Conferences
FRIDAY, February 12, 2021
Dear Families,
On Friday, February 12, 8AM-4PM, WPSD will be hosting Parent-Teacher Conferences. Due to COVID restrictions, conferences will be held virtually using Google Meet for ten minute appointments.
As we navigate through this unpredictable school year, we know how important conferences are for both teachers and parents. Staff are listed in alphabetical order. Teaches are available for sign-up as your student's content teacher as well as Advisory teacher. Counselors are also on the list and available for sign-up.
Please use the SlyReply links to schedule your appointment(s). Once you schedule your appointment, your teacher will confirm your appointment by sending you a link to a Google Meet. This link is how you will access the virtual conference.
We look forward to connecting with you and having conversations that will help our students finish the school year strong. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!
