Strength in Trees
Would it make sense to try and chop down a tree from the top?
Not if we understand how tree's work.
The trunks and roots are where the power lies. Gravity is on our side. To tear it down must begin at the root of the "thing".
Strength in growth is similar. If we want to chop down our obstacles we do not start at the top. We would have to attack it, each and every one of us together with axes and change the face of the obstacle before us.
We have to learn all there is to learn about chopping down trees in order to clear a forest;
Similarly, we have to learn all there is to learn about ourselves in order to clear our forest of obstacles.

Preparing for Hybrid - VIRTUAL STUDENTS
STUDENTS WHO HAVE ELECTED TO REMAIN VIRTUAL
When we return to school on Monday, October 19th in our hybrid model, your child will continue their learning online from home. ALL students enrolled in the Virtual Academy will livestream into their regular classes during regular class times (SEE SCHEDULE BELOW).
Teachers will instruct their regular face-to-face classes as well as their students who have opted into the Virtual Academy. The District has providing our teachers with tripods and cameras that are optimized for live-streaming and have a variety of classroom-friendly functionalities including facial recognition and tracking, auto rotate, and responsive audio. Virtual Academy students will be able to interact with the class and their teachers throughout the class period using Zoom or Google Meet tools just as they do now.
PLEASE NOTE:
There is a learning curve on this platform. Teachers are going to be using a variety of techniques to be sure to incorporate all students. The first few days may be hectic as they work to ensure students are logged in as well as students who are virtual having the ability to see what is going on in the classroom. PLEASE BE PATIENT. There are going to be some major accomplishments and some potential epic fails, but we will work through the process TOGETHER.
PLEASE REFER TO THE EXCEPTION for next week only BELOW
Schedules
Hybrid is here Monday October 19th.
Students whose last names are A-K will attend school face-to-face on Monday and Tuesday
Students whose last names are L-Z will attend school face-to-face on Thursday and Friday
Students will be doing independent work on Wednesdays with some options for group work or one-to-one teacher sessions.
VIRTUAL STUDENTS/PARENTS:
Monday October 19th - your student will only log-in for their Advisory Period. Since this will be the first day for students A-K we must acclimate them the rules of the school and how to maneuver around the building. We will be on a special schedule to do such. Teachers will have given them work for the remainder of the day on Monday so that we will be able to accomplish the settlement of the students who will be face-to-face.
THE SAME WILL BE TRUE FOR THURSDAY October 22. Virtual students will log into their Advisory Period, but will not log-in to any class for the remainder of the day. This will be the first day for the L-Z students and they too will have to learn the face-to-face protocols.
Student Absences & Attendance
Calls have been made to parents of students who have not logged into the system. Please understand that attendance is being heavily monitored.
Parent Connection
In the capacity of leadership for the PTO, individuals will have the opportunity to sit on committees with teachers regarding curriculum, community connections, building changes, etc.
Please indicate if you are interested in participating with the teachers on
- curriculum/building climate or
