North Pole Middle School

Principal's Update - February 14, 2022

Mission Statement

North Pole Middle School believes all students can succeed because education is a shared responsibility between students, home, school, and community in that this partnership provides students opportunities for personal and academic growth in a safe and supportive environment.

Hello Parents and Families

We are halfway through February and the third quarter which is amazing to think about. This quarter is absolutely flying by here at the school. Our first social last Friday went well, the kids had a ball and the wrestling team was able to raise some much needed funds for their program. A big thank you to all of the wrestling parents who volunteered their time or their resources to help make this event successful.

Next week is an unusual week as students will only attend school on February 24 and 25th. February 21st is a Professional Development Day for all district staff, February 22nd and 23rd are Parent Teacher Conferences, by now you should have received a postcard in the mail with those dates and times. Courtney Howk will be sending you a separate email with information as to how to sign up for conferences.

PTSO will be meeting on February 28 @ 5:30 p.m. in the library to discuss some upcoming family events hosted by NPM Social Service Manager Gissell Cravener. One goal of these events is to provide a light dinner for families so they can come to the event without having to worry about feeding their families first. Help from you, our parents will be needed to pull this off. We look forward to seeing you at this meeting.

The end of the third quarter is March 11 with an early dismissal at 12:50 p.m. Spring break is the week of March 13 - 19th, no school for anyone and the fourth quarter begins March 21st. It will be a quick race to May after spring break with State testing and the arrival of spring close behind. Stay tuned for more information as we move closer to the end of the school year. Whew!

Have a wonderful week all.

Richard Smith, Principal
