The R.E.A.D.Y. Release

CCTC Monthly Newsletter-December 2020

Dear CCTC Families,

We have transitioned to full virtual learning for all students. CCPS will continue to work with the Caroline County Health Department to analyze the COVID-19 Metrics and students will be transitioned back to the building once it is determined safe to do so, but not before January 11. We are missing seeing our students live and in person at CCTC and we look forward to their return.

Students should be logging in to Zoom for all of their classes Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays continue to be Asynchronous and students should be logging into their Google Classrooms, completing and submitting their assignments for the day. The submission of the Asynchronous Wednesday assignments is how teachers take attendance for the day, so it is important that these assignments are completed and submitted.

Prior to going fully virtual, we had the opportunity to administer some industry assessments with our students. We continue to plan for the continuation of administering these assessments. Many assessments can be administered virtually. Some cannot. One thing is for sure, CCTC students will be given the opportunity to show what they know, what they have learned and what skills they have acquired, on the industry assessments associated with their programs of study. Parents and students will be contacted as we approach assessment dates and details will be shared.

Each day teachers are available between 1:00 and 3:00 to meet one-on-one with students if they need review on specific classwork/content, have questions, or just need someone to talk to. Our school counselor, Mr. Plutschak is also available to provide support if needed. Students just need to reach out if they need help and support. We are here for our students!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Stay safe everyone and have a wonderful holiday season!

Delayed Openings Half Days of School

In the event of an inclement weather delayed opening occurring on a scheduled half day of school, all students will remain at home for an asynchronous learning day. Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom by 9:00 am. Students lacking connectivity at home will download assignments prior to leaving school or be provided assignments upon their return to the school building.

Are you okay? These are tough times!

We are here to help!
