Student ambassadors were chosen from each grade level. Here is a picture of most of us working on our first project. A "Be the I in KIND" poster for the front entrance of the school.
The month of November, students will be doing lessons on Career Exploration and Gratitude.
Signs of Suicide--Program Update
Counselors talked with 31 students the week of our Signs of Suicide Program. Some of these students requested to speak to a counselor and others were identified by their friends and peers. This program helps students recognize the signs of depression, recognize the signs of suicide, teaches students how to respond to someone who expresses suicidal ideation, and stresses the importance of reporting concerns to an adult.
Red Ribbon Week
We celebrated Red Ribbon drug and alcohol prevention week. Students did lessons in Advisory class such as watching videos from the Safe and Sober Program and doing activities like walking through the hallway while only breathing through a straw to demonstrate the effects of COPD. Students also has some fun decorating classroom doors with drug/alcohol prevention themes.
