Message from the Main Office
It is hard to believe that we will celebrate the 100th day on February 3rd and our first graders will celebrate their 101st day February 4th! Time flies, but our Eagles family has sure had a lot of fun this year!! Speaking of family, please be sure to read this month's newsletter closely as it includes important information about a very special opportunity to help a valued member of our Eagles family.
Also, at the end of this month we will begin our second round of Parent-Teacher conferences for the 2019-2020 school year. A positive partnership between home and school always fosters better development and academic achievement in our children. Invest in your children and come to parent teacher conferences!
Stronger Together: Band Together for Kind Hearts!
Do you know Mrs. Meline, Kindergarten Teacher at Eagles Elementary? If so, you know her passion for teaching young children (19 years) and her commitment to Eagles as a staff member and parent. On February, 12, 2020, Mrs. Meline will undergo her 2nd open-heart surgery at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN. Due to severe disfunction of the mechanical aortic valve she received five years ago, doctors will put in a new valve, remove rare tissue growth on her heart, and add a pace maker while doing other heart repairs.
Our Eagles family will be sending well wishes and prayers to Mrs. Meline and her family during the next 2 months. We will also help raise funds to support her family for travel expenses to and from Rochester, the cost of surgery, and support while Mrs. Meline is out of work recovering. Please consider purchasing a rubber bracelet or making a donation in support of her. 100% of the profits will go to the Meline family as an anonymous donor purchased the bracelets in Mrs. Meline’s honor.
Further information and the Order Form can be found in the PDF below.

Our next book fair of the year will be held Monday, February 24th – Monday, March 2nd . The fair will be open during all nights of conferences! Hours will be: Monday 2/24 9am-3pm, Tuesday 2/25 9am-7pm, Wednesday 2/26 9am-3pm, Thursday 2/27 9am-7pm, Friday 2/28 9am-3pm and Monday 3/2 9am-6pm. Students are allowed to purchase from the fair during the school day when it is open so you can also send money to school with students if you prefer or make it easy and set up an e-wallet (instructions below) for your student so they can shop without having to keep track of cash!
Please consider volunteering at the fair if you are able! We need help during times the fair is open during the school day and during conferences, and on Monday 3/2 at 6pm for take down, which takes about an hour. Any and all help is appreciated! Please CLICK HERE if you are interested.
Thank you for supporting our students and encouraging them to read!

PTA UPDATE
Eagles Families,
Thank you for being an important part of Eagles PTA. We encourage you to help make the start of 2020 just as great for our children by filling it with fun, encouragement and learning opportunities. We could not do this without you!
Reflections
Reflections Art Night was held in December and 9 entries were submitted to the state competition. Thank you to our committee chairs and volunteers for hosting the event!
Skate City
Thanks to all our families that came out to Skate City Night on January 6th. The scavenger hunt was fun for all and the place was hoppin’ with Eagles families!
Lego League
Big-time kudos to the Eagles FIRST LEGO League team, “Eagles Economy”. The team represented Eagles Elementary very well at the regional tournament on January 25th and should be very proud of their accomplishments. Eagles Economy earned 1st place for Project Award and was awarded a Golden Ticket to the state competition in February at UND for their performance in all categories (Robot, Robot Design, Core Values and Project).
FMCT on the Road
Come on out to watch our Eagles Aces perform Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid on February 6th at 6:30. Our kiddos have worked so hard to memorize their lines and learn the performance. No charge for admission. Flowers and balloons will be sold for $3 each.
Book Fair
Our next Book Fair will be held Feb. 25, 27 and March 2 during Parent Teacher Conferences. Please consider volunteering to help during this event. It’s fun and a great way to meet other parents! You can sign up to volunteer by clicking HERE.
