Keeping Up with Kipling!

September 17, 2021

Hello, Kipling Cougar Families!

We are cruising right along at Kipling School. Why? Because we have amazing students and staff - that's why! Thank you all for your partnership and for sending us these great kids each day!

We are in the midst of MAP testing and that seems to be going well. We will finish up testing and make up tests next week. Finding out what our students know and what they don't know helps us make many educational decisions about how to move forward and how to best teach your children.

We all hope you have a wonderful weekend!

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Have a great week!

Kipling Storytime

Sorry about the change last week for Kipling Storytime. I am hopeful that this coming Wednesday works better for us all.

This year, my plan is to either read to the students or have a staff member read to the students every other Wednesday night. I truly enjoyed reading every Wednesday night last year, but family obligations will not allow for that again this year.

Please either sign go to Zoom or Facebook Live to watch the readings. I will start this Wednesday, September 22th beginning at 7:15pm. The next one will occur on Wednesday, October 6th at the same time. Perhaps it will be me, or perhaps it will be a Kipling Staff member. I will keep you posted.

Thanks in advance for watching!

Ruff Day! (2nd Running)

We are asking all walkers - that is to say, those of you who are walking to school to pick up your child - to please keep your pets off of school property. While many of our children love to pet and play with the dogs, we also have a fair amount of children who are scared of the dogs, especially when they are barking at each other. Thank you for your cooperation.

After week 1, I saw a ton of cooperation with this request. Thank you very much!

Student Health Requirements 21-22 (2nd Running)

We recognize and are mindful of the fact that many families may have had difficulty getting children in for physical, dental, and eye exams as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has presented many challenges to routine medical care; however, at this time, all child-health related requirements for school attendance, remain in effect for children in public, private, or parochial schools, as per 105 ILCS 5/27-8.1.

Health-related examinations and immunization requirements are due no later than October 15. Please click here to be directed to our website for detailed information regarding specific requirements by grade level.

You will soon be receiving communication from our building nurse if your child is missing any of the required documentation. Students not in compliance with the health examination and immunization requirements will be excluded from school beginning Friday, October 15, 2021. Please reach out with any questions regarding these requirements as we want to partner with you to ensure compliance with these requirements. Thank you.

Arrival is 8:35 (3rd Running)

The earliest we allow students to arrive at school is 8:35am. We do not have any supervision prior to 8:35. Please plan your arrival around that time. We have had a few incidents of students on our playground equipment, in the gaga pit and around the school before we have any supervision outside. Please make sure that your route to school is timed so that you are not arriving early. Thank you for your cooperation.
