Making the Alternate Eligible Content Accessible for ALL Students Who Are Eligible for the PASA

PaTTAN Consultant, Sharon Leonard and John Machella, PDE will be the facilitators of this professional learning session. This session will provide participants an opportunity to explore and determine the alternate eligible content relevant for the students in their classrooms. Participants will learn and practice how to reduce the complexity of this content yet still remain aligned to the intent of the alternate eligible content and PA Core Standards when designing targets for learning. These targets will include consideration of each student’s current level of instructional performance in relation to the content as well as measurable outcomes to assist with data collection towards mastery of the goals set.


Participants will be able to:

· Identify the alternate eligible content through and across grades focusing on the grade level relative to their current assignment

· Determine the intent of the alternate eligible content

· Design essentialized targets for learning aligned to the PA Alternate Eligible Content
