Principal's Corner
Dear Saint Andrew Families,
Happy Catholic Schools Week!
For Catholic schools across the nation this week marks the celebrations we've come to know as Catholic Schools Week. Many of the activities we planned for this week have been postponed until next week when we return to in-person learning. However, two events will continue as planned this week. The first event, the premier of the Saint Andrew School Virtual Tour, you will find on our school website. What makes this tour so unique is that it was scripted and produced by the Class of 2021 and Ms. Zdinak. I am so delighted to boast of the students' technological and communication skills. They have captured the essence of Saint Andrew School in a brief video that is a pleasure to watch.
The second event this week is the General Home and School meeting which will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd. Cheri Lovre, founder and owner of Five Essential Minutes, has over thirty years experience in crisis response and trauma intervention. Cheri will address parenting concerns in a time of pandemic. A special link to join the meeting will be sent via email. Mrs. Jessica Ryan, our school counselor from DCIU, will be on the call to monitor questions parents may have for Cheri.
The Catholic Schools Week events to be carried over to next week are listed below (see Catholic Schools Week Activities)
Our teachers, students, parents and caregivers have been valiant in their efforts to ensure continuous learning during shift to virtual learning. Thank you for you continued support and encouragement!
Let's hope the power holds out during this storm so we can continue with virtual learning! However, if you do experience difficulties just notify the child's teacher when you are able. Stay warm and safe!
May God be praised in all we do!

Terra Nova Testing Information
Virtual Student Terra Nova Testing
We thank the parents for all of the partnership with SAS for the 2020-21 School Year. This has been a new and exhausting endeavor this year, but through God it has made us all stronger.
The Terra Nova will be in person for all Virtual Students. Virtual students will report to Hughes Building in McGettigan Hall by 8 AM. Test dates are Inview Thursday 3/11, Terra Nova Friday 3/12, Monday 3/15, Tuesday 3/16, Thursday 3/18, Friday 3/19. No testing will take place on Wednesday 3/17.
Parents may choose to have their student participate in the Terra Nova testing in person isolated from the regular student population for testing time only, or not participate in the Terra Nova testing and forego any standardized test scores for two years.
Opting out of the testing will impact the accuracy of the data needed for Honors Math, High school records, educational needs and service, as well as make any decisions based off of the standardized test score two years old and irrelevant.
The school asks that parents complete the survey by February 12, 2021, so there is adequate time to prepare the school and update our Terra Nova testing plans.Home and School News
