American Education Week is November 13-17, 2017

This month, during American Education Week, we have much to be thankful for and celebrate! Next week, all employees will receive a small token of appreciation for your commitment to Mankato Area Public Schools. The gift was created in partnership with Mayo Health System-Mankato, and is meant to support you on your journey to wellness. It is hoped that your new coaster will find a place at your work station supporting you in using your Employee Health Promotions water bottle. We are grateful for YOU!

• Set an alarm to remind you to take a break from sitting every 30 minutes.

Stand up whenever you’re on the phone.

Communicate in person with anyone within 500 feet of your desk, instead of dashing off an e-mail.

Drink more water throughout the day. You’ll have to get up in order to refill your water

bottle, as well as use the restroom.

• If you can, have meetings on the go. Take a walk outside with your colleagues instead of
