Events, Announcements, and Information

Welcome Back Performance for Akins Faculty & Staff

Monday, Aug. 14th, 7-9:30pm

10701 South 1st Street

Austin, TX

Students should arrive wearing their AEB summer uniform. All components will be distributed before Monday or first thing Monday morning.


  • 6:15am - Band Hall opens
  • 6:30am - Leaders meet to decorate theater
  • 7:00am - Distribution of summer uniforms (that have not already been distributed)
  • 7:30am - Rehearsal for all AEB members
  • 8:30am - Performance
  • 8:45am - Performance concludes
  • 9:00am - Dismissed
  • 9:30am - Campus closed to all students


No students will be permitted to remain on campus during the day. Students must make arrangements for a ride to take them home by 9:30am and bring them back for rehearsal before 5:00pm.

AHS Kick-off Rally

Wednesday, Aug. 16th, 6-7pm

10701 South 1st Street

Austin, TX

This pep rally will take place during the middle of our rehearsal schedule. Students should arrive on Wednesday afternoon dressed in their AEB summer uniform.


  • 5:00pm - Indoor rehearsal
  • 5:45pm - Setup in gym
  • 6:00pm - Kick-off Rally
  • 7:00pm - Change to rehearsal clothes
  • 7:15pm - Rehearsal outside
  • 9:00pm - Dismissed

Earn Money for Your Band Fees, Next Year's Trip Payments, and Lessons

Did you know that you can work shifts at the UT Erwin Center to earn money for your fees, trip payments, and lessons? Each shift pays $35 to $75 per person depending on the event and business.


There are always shifts available and we are already needing people to work!

  • Friday, August 25th - Fundraising Kick-off Meeting (Mandatory for all AEB members.) - Akins Band Hall - 4:45pm to 5:45pm
  • Saturday, August 26th - AEB with AISD at the Austin Pride Parade (OPTIONAL) - Downtown Austin - 5:00pm to 10:45pm - If you want to participate, sign up here.
  • Friday, September 1st - Football vs. Crockett - Burger Stadium - 4:30pm to 11:30pm
  • Monday, September 4th - Labor Day Holiday - No Rehearsal
