SCA Reenrollment for 2016-17 - Don't miss the reenrollment discount!
A letter and instructions were sent home on January 15 in your student's backpack and reenrollment can be completed online again this year. February 29 is the last time to reenroll and receive the 25% reenrollment fee discount. THE REENROLLMENT FEE DISCOUNT ENDS on Tuesday, March 1. The reenrollment fee covers the entire family and isn't charged per child enrolled at SCA. We are already receiving many inquiry calls for the 2016-17 school year and have already received several completed applications from new families. New families from covenant churches can enroll starting on February 16 and open enrollment begins on March 1, so we encourage you to enroll early. Families reenrolling by March 1 will receive a discount on the enrollment fee.

“Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God."

BMV Questions
1. What two impossible things was Jesus talking about? He was talking about a camel going through the eye of a needle and a rich man entering the kingdom of heaven.
2. Is being rich a bad thing? It can be if we learn to trust in the money we have and not in God’s ability to take care of us. God wants us to Him above everything else, including our money.
3. What are some other things we can put before God? We can put all kinds of things before God; our family, our job, our toys, our schoolwork. All of these can be idols in our lives.

ACSI Speech Competition
Third grade students at SCA participate in the ACSI Speech Competition every year. Each student will memorize a Bible passage, poem, or folktale/fable in the coming month. This will be their poem grade for the month, and everyone will participate by reciting their speech in class. Mr. Welch's class will recite their speeches on Feb. 25th, and Mrs. Stephens' class will recite their speeches on Feb. 26th. We will then have a grade level completion after school on Feb. 29th for any students who are interested in the school-wide competition. Three students from each category will qualify for the next level of competition and will help represent the third grade of SCA at the ACSI Speech Competition in April.
Students who have chosen to recite a Bible passage must also be able to give a short explanation of what the passage means to them. It should be something short, but also well thought through. I would suggest having them write a couple of sentences at the end of their Bible passage to memorize.
