Oedipus
Oedipus is the biological son of Laius & Jocasta; he is the adopted so of Polybus & Merope. Oedipus is married to Jocasta. Oedipus is the king of Thebes. Oedipus killed his father, married is mother, and solved the riddle of the sphinx
Sophocles
Spohocles is the writer of Oedipus the King, and the writer of several greek tragedies.
Jocasta
Jocasta, the mother of Oedipus, Is the Queen of Thebes who unknowingly marries her son after the death of her husband, Laius.
Cadmus
Cadmus is the founder of Thebes, he slew a dragon and the consequences of later events was the creation of Thebes. Cadmus is the Great Grandfather of Laius, and the great great grandfather of Oedipus.
Oracle of Apollo
The Oracle of Apollo is a place you can go to have prophets tell you your destiny/future.
The Oracle of Apollo is where it was first said that Oedipus will kill his father and marry his mother.
Sphinx
The Sphinx in Oedipus blocked the entrance of Thebes until someone could solve its riddle, Killing those that could not Solve it and promising to kill itself if solved. Oedipus solved the riddle and got Jocasta's hand in marriage as a reward.
Laius
Laius, the father of Oedipus and the former king of thebes, was kill by his son on the road. He is the Great Grandson of Cadmus, the founder of thebes.
Cornith
Cornith is where Oedipus was rasied, and where his adopted parents reign as king and Queen.
King Polybus
King Polybus is the adopted father of Oedipus and the husband of Queen Merope. Together they rule Cornith
Queen Merope
Queen of cornith, wife of King polybus, and adopted mother of Oedipus
