Wildcat Roar
NEWS AND INFO FOR WILDCAT STAFF 2.25
BUT we know that we still have a long way to go before equity exists in our classrooms and true liberation for our student is achieved. Segregation may be illegal, but it still exists in practice. In addition to inequitable access to quality schools, students from marginalized groups also experience gaps in opportunity, development of 21st century skills, and public partnerships.
As we continue to move forward in our journey with project-based learning, reflect on how we can continue to move toward equity. Let's ask ourselves, is our instruction closing opportunity gaps, or is it widening them?

Please click HERE for a link to a shared document that will track each of the required steps that need to take place PRIOR to a child receiving a failing grade on a report card. It is simple to use. Add a child's name to the form and an X to the boxes that are complete. You can also add any comments or notes that would be helpful for admin to know. Most importantly, we will use this information to make sure we are doing everything possible to support our students. Students should be held accountable for their own learning, but it also is up to us to maintain the belief that every child can succeed. Passively allowing a student to fail is not an option.
This year we would like to commemorate our Black History celebration with a really nice t-shirt designed by Ms. Harris! It's an amazing Black History t-shirt, with a powerful poem written by Ms. Harris on the back! It's super cute, and a great message. You can purchase one for yourself, and maybe even for a well deserving student. Let's show our students and parents that our staff is solid and unified by wearing it on February 28th for the Black History program. Another cool thing is that this t-shirt is also available as a sweat shirt! If you're interested, please see the link below. The deadline for purchasing your shirt is Thursday, February 21st.
