Childhood Life
Oprah was born in Kosciusko, MS. Her birth date is January 29, 1954. She is 62 years old. When Oprah was six years old she went to go live with her mother in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her mother was rarely home since she worked as a maid, so Oprah was basically neglected. At nine years old she was left with her 19-year-old-cousin who raped her. She suffered sexual abuse from various relatives, and her mother's boyfriend until the age of 13, which is when she ran away from home. At the age of 14 she found out she was pregnant, the baby died shortly after birth. She went to go live with her father in Tennessee.

Oprah Winfrey is one of the most influential people in America, as well as the first African-American billionaire.
Oprah’s father influenced her to pursue getting an education . She attended “Nashville East High school” here she took public speaking, drama, and was even elected school president!
She received a full scholarship to Tennessee State University after winning a public speaking contest.
