Newsletter for November 2021

What's happening at the winery.....

The last month was busy with racking and testing. The wines need to be checked for residual sugar, ph and other chemistry to insure that the maturing batches are up to Trent's standards. He keeps a close eye on them to keep them on track.

Our newest batch of Stream Engine Red Blend is ready to bottle (along with other varietals) and we'll be doing that starting next week. We'll need some help, so if you're interested in volunteering, please email John at this address <john@missioncellars.net>

By the way, we have a few wine barrels that we're retiring from production They're now available for sale for $80 each. Inquire at the winery when you come in. They're first come first served so let us know if you want one. They work great for décor in your yard or patio.

Rancho BEERnardo Festival

Mission Cellars participated in the BEERnardo Festival on Saturday, October 23rd at Webb Lake Park, pictured above. It was mostly breweries, but there were 4 wineries pouring too. It was a fun event and we had a lot of people interested in our wines. Of course, showing off our DOUBLE GOLD MEDALS didn't hurt either. We poured Chardonnay, our dry Rose' and our Malbec and everybody LOVED them. We got several people to sign up for our Newsletter email list too. It was a beautiful day to meet and greet. Here's a picture of our booth BERFORE the event started.

Holiday Schedule

Mission Cellars will CLOSED on Thanksgiving Day. We'll be open again on Friday, November 26th. Bring your out of town guests over for some EXCELLENT wine and some fun too. We're going to have live music on Sunday, the 28th. The Eicher Trio will be playing jazz and blues from 2:30 to 4:30PM. What a GREAT way to spend a holiday weekend. Relax....Take a deep breath and chill.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving with your family and friends. What a great time of the year to let them all know that you love them and appreciate them. Don't forget to pick up a couple bottles of Thanksgiving cheer at The Mission, so you can show off a bit to your snobby Aunt Matilda. She's NEVER had Pinot Blanc like THAT!!

Our good friend Santa will be visiting The Mission on Sunday, December 12th. His sleigh is in for repair so he'll be driving his old Model "T" car. He'll be talking with all the kids and you can take your own pictures for FREE. Just wanted to give you a heads up so you can plan ahead. Bring all the kids over to see Santa while Mom and Dad have a glass of wine. Avoid that stuffy shopping mall scene and have some fun. More details to come in our December Newsletter.

Burger Night

We will be holding our famous monthly Burger Night on Friday, November 19th. We'll have those tasty Filhart Beef Burgers on homemade buns from Sour Dough Delights. I'm drooling already! We'll be grilling from 4 to 8PM that day.

A note of graditude.

Mission Cellars would like to thank all of you who support the winery. It's you who make this a viable and fun business. We're grateful for your patronage and thanks for always bringing your smile when you come over. We'd also like to thank Greg Payne for making pizzas for everyone last month. What a guy! He's always there to help.

As we always say, "Cheers Friends!"

Holiday Parties

Mission Cellars has a nice patio in the back of the building that works well for small, private parties. The picture shows how we set up a private birthday party recently. We also have space in our production room among the wine barrels. It's a cool setting. If you're interested in holding a private holiday party, please contact Charlene at this email address <charlene@missioncellars.net>

Gift cards

Don't forget that we have GIFT CARDS available at The Mission. It's a good way to take care of those hard-to-buy-for friends and relies. You can designate any amount you'd like. Ask your server the next time you're at the winery.
