Wake Up Wednesdays!

Every Wednesday starting Sept. 17th, the PLP Fellows will brew ONE pot of coffee between 9 and 10 AM. Come up, see the PLP Crush Hall of Fame results, and share a cup of coffee with your PLP Fellows. One pot of coffee can go quick, so make sure you get up here, and get a cup while supplies last!

PLP Crush Hall of Fame

Welcome to week two of the PLP Crush Hall of Fame! Last week was a huge success, and that current is Crush winner is displayed on Zach’s Crush Wall. Make sure you make time to visit the Fellows up in the DSU and see who wins each week! As you know, this month’s theme is Young Celebrities, and we are selecting some women crushes this week. After polling some of you all, we have narrowed down this week’s finalists to three crush worthy women. Make sure you click the link to make your vote count!

Don't forget to vote in the Midterm Elections!

There's an easy way! Register at! Christopher Newport University seeks to inspire our students to lead lives of significance and be responsible leaders and citizens in their communities, the nation and the world. To that end, exercising your right to vote is an important aspect of your civic duty!

There is still time to register to vote for the MIDTERM ELECTIONS on November 4th. TurboVote makes it easier than ever to register. Go to and register online. When you sign up with TurboVote, you will be able to access everything you need to register to vote, stay registered to vote if you move, vote absentee, and get reminders about every local, state, and federal election regardless of where you move.

TurboVote simplifies the voting process so that you, the voters, can focus on what's important: the candidates and questions on the ballot. However, like any other initiative, participation is key - you must take the first step and register online now. Voting not only allows each individual to make their voice heard, but also for out community to play a role in shaping decision that affect all of us.

The Public History Center presents: ‘Scotland's Vote for Independence: Why History Matters Today'

VA Museum of Fine Arts

Join Distiguished Professor of History and President Emeritus Dr. Anthony R. Santoro and Professor Emeritus Dr. Mario D. Mazzarella on a fabulous day trip to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. You will enjoy a guided tour of the ancient Egyptian, Greek, and Roman collections in the morning and the tour of the Southeast Asian collection in the afternoon. There will also be opportunities to visit the museum's other impressive collections in American history and other areas.

There is no charge for the trip (other than a voluntary $2.00 tip for the Motor Coach driver). The trip is open to all CNU students, faculty, and staff. Please see attached information flyer for departure time and reservation procedures.

Mid-Atlantic Leadership Review

The Mid-Atlantic Leadership Review (MLR) is a primarily online, peer-reviewed leadership studies journal based at Christopher Newport University. Its focus is to publish high-quality undergraduate research articles written by students or co-authored with faculty, as well as articles beyond the undergraduate level written by graduate students, faculty, and leadership practitioners. Interested in film?

Jesse is a CNU grad who is passionate about film—the collaboration, the process, the creativity, and of course the finished product. He is looking for actors. The required level of experience and talent will vary based on the project, but intrepid folks who want time in front of the camera are welcome to audition. Up next is the crew—people who want to be involved in making the film look and sound good on the technical end. Lastly, Jesse want to offer assistance on a project you feel passionate about. If you have a script you’d like to see brought to life, he may be able to help. Check it out here!
