Thank you to our wonderful PAWs team for all of your hard to put on our Family Dance. We appreciate the work PAWs does to improve our school and connect our Wildcat community.
We have rescheduled Friday Flag for this week on Friday, 2/16 at 8:45am on the blacktop. We hope to see you there!

Parents of student(s) who speak a language other than English
Today through Friday, March 1st, Poway Unified will be conducting our Family Engagement and Accountability survey to gather input from all families of English Learner students. This survey helps shape the Districtβs goals and guide priorities for the 2024-2025 school year. Your feedback is extremely helpful as we continue to seek ways to better our English Learner program.

Book Exchange Donations π
Read Across America Day is coming up on Friday, March 1st and we are collecting gently used books for our book exchange. All students will be able to bring home a free book as part of our celebration! We especially need chapter books (including early reader chapter books) for our older readers, but any books appropriate for preschool through 5th grade are greatly appreciated.
Please drop off donations in the red bin in the front office by Friday, February 16. Thank you in advance for helping promote literacy and a love of reading for our Wildcats!

FEBRUARY MONTHLY UPDATES π
Counseling with Ms. Yearing
In our fast paced world, adults can be quick to step-in, direct or problem-solve for our children for a variety of reasons. However, children can only learn how to problem-solve if we give them the opportunity to practice...NOT solve things for them. Our children are so much more capable than we give them credit. Also, one of the best reasons to cultivate this skill is each time a child problem-solves through an obstacle or challenge, they are much more likely to follow-through and take ownership of that situation. Then the real growth happens... building true self-worth.
This month, I invite you to see every problem, big or small, as an opportunity for growth for you and your child, to help your child become a better problem-solver.
