Freak the Mighty, From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, and The Bridge to Terabithia. I will be meeting with reading groups during the Daily 5 language arts time.
We will be working with conjunctions, prepositions, affixes (scope and ad), and oxymorons this week.
Students are still expected to work on their Lexia goals, or spend 20 minutes twice a week on No Red Ink.
Free choice reading novels are required in class daily. We will visit the library on Tuesday, 4/5. If they don't have anything they are currently reading, they may get something then.
Math
Science
***Science Fair projects are due on May 16. If the project will take a few weeks, please begin to focus on gathering the materials so that it is all completed on time. There are two parts: a written report (google classroom) and a tri-fold board.
We will be using some supplemental videos as reinforcement.
Social Studies
I will explain the presentation part in class and have suggestions for the kids to use, but they are not restricted to the suggestions.
We will also begin chapter 10 this week. As Americans, we have won our independence, but that leaves a whole new challenge: how will we govern ourselves. There were many different original state laws that we will morph into the Constitution and Bill of Rights. I love teaching these things since it is something that is a living document that we still honor today.
