DMS Weekly Update
Happy 2021!
Welcome Back!
We welcome back to school our students for Janaury and the second semester. We hope everyone was able to take time over the winter break to rest and reboot for the second half of the school year.
We know that COVID cases are still on the rise in SC. Therefore, it is very important for all of us, students and staff, to remember our COVID mitigation practices and to wear our masks, social distance, and continue to clean our hands and school items each and every day.
All schools in Pickens County were cleaned and sanitized over the break and are ready for opening!
Please remember to continue to check your inbox each week for the DMS newsletter that will communicate important information for second semester.
Thanks and again, Welcome Back!
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
Attention! Dismissal Time Change!
Middle School Dismisses at 1:15pm beginning January 4th!
Beginning tomorrow, January 4th, we will be operating at the middle school level on a modified dismissal time of 1:15 p.m. for the first two weeks of school (January 4-15).
The reason for this change is that these two weeks are now the times where SDPC must give End-of-Course tests and midterm or final exams for select high school credit courses due to us starting school later in August than we had originally scheduled. This schedule is also based on the need to keep middle school and high school dismissals aligned for the purpose of bus routes in the afternoon.
REMINDER:
Friday, December 18th was a Remote Learning Day. All assignments for this day are due by Friday, January 8, 2021.
