SMLS News and Notes
Updates from Mrs. Rash, Principal - October 30, 2017
Welcome Catherine Gillespie, our new Director of Admissions and Advancement
After a thorough search of many qualified applicants, we have selected our new Director of Admissions and Advancement, Mrs. Catherine Gillespie. Mrs. Gillespie has experience working in admissions, recruitment, and advancement in previous schools and a background in marketing and graphic design. At SMLS, Mrs. Gillespie will have many roles, but primarily she will manage the admissions process, coordinate marketing efforts, handle alumni outreach, and work to promote the many wonderful things going on at our school. Mrs. Gillespie will begin at St. Mary of the Lakes School on November 6 and we welcome her!
Halloween!
It's hard to believe but Halloween is upon us! Our Halloween Parade for our pre-k through 4th grade students will be outside, led by our 8th graders at 11AM. Please join us!
**Students in K-4 can wear their Gym uniforms to school so it is easier for them to change into their costumes. Costumes should be carried into school in a bag and they will change here.
Because students in grades 5-8 are not dressing up in costume, they will be allowed to wear the following:
5th, 6th and 7th graders:
- Gym or spirit wear shorts or pants
- An orange, black, yellow or purple shirt that is appropriate for school. It may have a Halloween message or picture, but it does not have to. It may not show gore or violence. It must cover at least what the uniform shirt covers.
8th graders:
- Pants that are appropriate for school. They may not be ripped or too tight. If students choose to wear leggings, their tops must be fingertip length.
- An orange, black, yellow or purple shirt that is appropriate for school. It may have a Halloween message or picture, but it does not have to. It may not show gore or violence. It must cover at least what the uniform shirt covers.
