MLK, Jr. Day

Schools will be closed on Monday, January 21st in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

All Shook Up

LHS's Musical Theater class proudly presents a one-night-only performance of ALL SHOOK UP, an upbeat, hour-long musical showcasing all Elvis songs! The show will take place on Wednesday, January 30th at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $5 dollars.

Winter Ball

The annual Winter Ball is scheduled for February 14th at Cedar Gardens in Hamilton, NJ. Ticket sales will be held during the last week of January ($35 cash only). Permission slips will be available starting next week, so watch your .info emails for more information!

* Senior Scoop *

The Countdown is On

Seniors, this is now officially YOUR YEAR! The next six months are going to fly by faster than you could imagine, and there will be a lot of "senior stuff" going on between now and then. Keep an eye on this section for information on "all things senior year," including senior awards, graduation, prom, Project Graduation, and more!

Mr. LHS Application Deadline

Mr. LHS applications are due back to the Main Office by Monday, January 14th!

The winner of the Mr. LHS Show will be crowned King, receive a Mr. LHS Sash, and a certificate for a free prom tuxedo rental from Princeton Tuxedos. His escorts will each receive a tiara and a gift. The runner-up will receive a certificate for a free corsage for his prom date and a boutonniere for him. His escorts will each receive gifts.

Positions available: candidates (senior boys); escorts (senior girls); masters of ceremony (seniors); alternates (senior boys and girls); dance choreographers (open to all); production crew (open to all); music technicians (open to all); and lighting technicians (open to all).

Cap and Gown Measurements

Herff Jones will be here on Tuesday, February 19th and Wednesday, February 20th during all lunches to measure seniors for their caps and gowns. They will also mail home ordering information beforehand, so watch your snail mail.

Garden Furniture Needed

The Green Action Team at LHS is seeking donations of used garden furniture for the Botanical Garden. If you are willing and able to donate, please contact Ms. Gwenn Andahazy at gandahazy@ltps.org.

Shop Rite Gift Cards

The Music Department is selling ShopRite gift cards at face value. Orders must be given to Michael Drobish or Mandy Johnson by the 1st and 15th of every month and will be fulfilled within 5 days. Checks should be made payable to LMS/LHS PTO (Memo: LIMBO.)

S.A.V.E.-ing Our Furry Friends

Students from S.A.V.E. (Students Against Violating the Earth) recently organized donations to the Mercer County Wildlife Center. The center takes in injured wildlife with the hopes of nursing them back to health and releasing them back into the wild. The Center is always in need of certain items such as bleach, paper towels, detergent, trash bags, and blankets.

DECA Does it Again

Over 190 LHS DECA members attended the first round of competition by competing at Districts this past week. DECA in an international marketing organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

LHS DECA members competed in 30 different events with 1,600 other members from their region. They completed a computerized test and roleplay scenarios in a given marketing, finance, or entrepreneurship event. LHS DECA brought home 34 instructional awards and 55 members won a spot to compete at the DECA State Leadership Conference to be held this March! These LHS DECA members will now compete with members from all over the state for an opportunity to compete at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida this coming April.
