St. John Lutheran School

Mission Statement

St. John Lutheran School exists to nurture children in faith and intellect, equipping them for Christian lives of service.

"So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10

A Slice of “Spiritual Bread” for the Christian Home . . .

15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter

answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:15-16

Have you ever been “pressed” to give an answer to a question? Jesus posed the question ~

“Who do you say I am?” ~ to his disciples. Peter, speaking for the group, stepped forward with

his response of faith: “You {Jesus} are the Christ {the “Anointed One,” the Promised Messiah},

the Son of the living God.”

Today, as you and I are challenged in our faith, may we remember Peter’s example. May the

Holy Spirit fill us ~ as we read and study the precious truths of God’s Word ~ with boldness to

share the joy and peace of knowing and believing in Jesus, our Savior.

Have a wonderful day and may Jesus always keep you in His care!

Blessings in Christ,

Jon Woldt, Principal

These exciting STEM/STEAM programs take a hands-on approach to engineering and coding, allowing students to directly engage with basic concepts through a variety of fun and educational activities. Students will improve their problem solving, math, and physics skills – all while engaging in exciting building projects. Engineering is open to grades 1-6, while Coding is open for grades 2-8. Registration information was sent home in your child's red folder last week. (I know one student who is super excited about this class! Steph)

Read to Succeed ~ Keep reading and filling in your sheet!

Children in grades K-6 brought home information about the Six Flags Read to Succeed program. Between now and February 27, children need to read only 6 hours to earn a free ticket to Six Flags Great America!

Reading must be material being read for fun, not for school work. Children can read anything they like. They can read silently, aloud, or they can even have an adult read to them. Simply record what your child read, how long they read, and initial it. When your child completes the 6 hours, initial the form and return it to your teacher. If you need another form just ask! The completed forms need to be returned to your child's teacher by Wednesday, February 27.

Chapel Mission: The Chilenje Project

Our chapel offerings for the second half of the year will be supporting Chilenje Lutheran Church in Chilenje, Zambia.

This is a group of Christians who are struggling to raise money for a church building to worship in. Currently, they hold their church services in a large tent, but they do have plans to build a church and a school. We have the special opportunity to support them with our chapel offerings. Please keep Chilenje Lutheran Church in your prayers, and consider supporting them with a financial gift as they seek to do God’s work in Africa!

Total offering so far: $87.82
