OLVCS Updates
May 19th, 2023
Dear Families and Friends of Our Lady of Victory Catholic School,
What a great week at OLV!
If you are reading this before the events are over, come check out the Art Show and Frozen Jr. this evening. Doors for the Art Show open at 5:00pm, so if you are planning to go to Frozen at 7:00pm, you may want to stop in a little later for the exhibits. The visual and performance artistry of our students and staff is so impressive. When I heard Emily Kopinski and Claire Dible (Princesses Anna and Elsa, respectively) singing at rehearsal, I thought that they might be lip-syncing to a recording, but was gladly proven wrong. Please come and enjoy both the Art Show and the Musical this evening.
Second grade has their First Holy Communion Rehearsal tonight, so please be patient in the parking lot as there will be a lot of cars and children to watch out for. And please pray for our second graders in their last moments of preparation before receiving our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament tomorrow morning. Every Mass brings the Last Supper and the Crucifixion into the present, so that receiving Jesus in this way is the summit of what we can do in this life as Catholics. Beyond the accounts of the Last Supper, the Bread of Life discourse in John 6, the Resurrection account of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, and Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (chapter 11) help to round out the Biblical roots of our understanding of the Eucharist. I’m so happy for these children. I hope this is the beginning of many more of these substantial encounters with the Lord.
The track season has come to a close, but there are some results to share from their district meet (below). Thank you to all of our athletes for giving this season their best, reaching goals, and representing our school so tremendously at their meets! And thanks coaches Straub, Daley, Carmack, and Fritzche for coaching a great season!
Please continue scrolling to read more about what is happening at OLV Catholic School and Preschool, OLV Church, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy. Thank you for your continued gifts of time, talent, and treasure for the betterment of our school community!
In Christ,
Jim Hoy
Sign Up To Help With Field Day
We need your help! This annual event consists of fun, outdoor stations in the morning. The K-4 students will be at stations in the back of the school, and 5-8 will have their stations in the front. Parent volunteers are needed for 'running' the stations, as classes rotate through. No experience necessary!

Religious Rights Foundation Update from Grier Yartz
Hi All,
I wanted to give everyone an update on our progress.
The Religious Rights Foundation of PA is an official 501(c)(3) in the State of PA.
I have set up a web page that can accept donations, as well as register people for membership.
www.religiousrightsfoundation.org
**Please note that our 501(c)(3) application is pending with the IRS, however, we do not see a problem with this getting approved.
I would encourage everyone to please go to the "Become a Member" section and register. The larger the membership, the better we look in court. Your names and information will NEVER be disclosed by the Foundation, unless you authorize us to do so. I believe the only time you will be asked for this is when we go to court. The court may want to review our membership count and demographics.
Once the membership list becomes substantial, I will send communications out to membership only.
I have asked Tom Breth, our Council from Dillon, McCandless King Coulter & Graham, LLP when we will be able to file in court. As soon as I hear back from him I will let you all know.
If you are considering donating, you can donate on the website ("Support the Cause"). Please note that we are charged for online donations (3% plus $0.30 per transaction).
If you would prefer to mail a check you can send it to:
Religious Rights Foundation of PA
3091 Enterprise Drive,
Suite 200
State College, PA 16801
Thank you all for your support with this project. If you can, please get the word out about the Foundation. The more, the merrier!
If anyone has any questions whatsoever, please contact me.
Respectfully,
Grier
