Please note: There will not be a Saturday worship service September 8th and no Children’s Church on Sunday, Sept. 9th.
Kim Arnold, Grace 4th grade teacher to be recognized Sunday at 10:00 service.
Sunday we officially recognize and and install Kim Arnold, our 4th grade teacher who has been a faithful member of the teaching staff at Grace since 2007. In recent years Kim has taken special classes in Lutheran perspectives on the role of the Lutheran Teacher including doctrine, practice, and general teaching ministry education. Upon peer review, Kim has now been certified to receive a Divine Call as a Teacher and Commissioned Minister rostered in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. That Call was extended from Grace and has been by her accepted.
She now joins the ranks of our other rostered, called teachers, Principal Ben Elliott, Assistant Principal/Counselor Kara Warner, Jr. High teacher Lee Zabinsky and 3rd grade teacher Katie Brumfield. Congratulations to Kim and to Grace!

Face to Face Youth Group for Middle School Students
1: We are officially releasing our schedule for this years events!! See below.
2. We have our first September event coming up on September 8th right here at Grace! We are doing Dye Wars from 2-5pm! We will provide pizza and drinks. Kids should all wear white shirts and bring a squirt gun!! This is basically a giant water war only we use food coloring and the team who gets the most of their color on the other team is the winner!! The cost for this event is $5. We will eat and have worship after we war.
3. Last, but certainly not least, we have had a new volunteer helping out for the last couple of months and she has thankfully decided to commit to being a permanent volunteer!! Hopefully most of you have had the opportunity to meet her, but for those of you who haven't here is a quick introduction that she typed up:
"Hi there Grace family! My name is Brittany and I've recently joined the Face to Face leadership team as a volunteer by Max's invitation. I met Max through BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and after hearing about this ministry, I was greatly moved by the amazing things that God was doing through the kids and wanted to get involved where there was a need.
A little about me: I am an Escondido native and UCLA graduate. I currently work at a software company called Teradata in marketing and I also coach gymnastics at the Palomar YMCA. I was involved with Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ) at UCLA where I led a Bible study and sang in the worship team. I was blessed with the opportunity to go on multiple international missions trips with Cru and serve on the student leadership team for two years.
My goal for my time at Grace is to serve and help guide your kids in their spiritual growth to a deeper relationship with Christ. I am currently leading the Face to Face Instagram page (@face2faceyouthgroup) and am planning on reviving the Worship Team for the Stand and Face to Face. As the female leader, I hope to be a positive and godly example of what it looks like to follow Christ and to develop and participate in discipleship with the girls.
Although Grace is a new place for me, I am excited to become more involved and to know you and your kids better. Please feel free to reach out to me personally (brittanychow03@gmail.com; 310-739-1288) with any questions. Looking forward to meeting you! "
We are really excited to have Brittany join the Grace team! We have been in need of a strong female leader for some time now and she is an answer to prayer!! For those of you who made it this far into my message, thank you for reading!! As always if you have any questions please let me know! Have a great weekend guys!! Hopefully I'll see all your kids Saturday night!
