FISD Early Childhood School
Where the Adventure Begins...
NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 16th- MLK Day
Welcome Back!
Dear Parents,
We had such a wonderful week and hope you did too! One of the things I enjoy most with our precious little ones is reading with them! Are you able to dedicate time at home to read with your child? Although our lives are so hectic, it is important to try and read with your child at least once a day at a regular scheduled time. Don't be discouraged if you skip a day or don't always keep to your schedule. As a parent you have the power to boost your child’s learning potential simply by making books an integral part of their lives. Reading with your child several times a week will build a stronger relationship with you, improve their academic success, help to build basic speech skills, and teach them foundational concepts about print. And one of the most important things they will learn from reading with you is that it is FUN! Children that love to read will do better in school!
With the three day weekend upon us, just think of all that extra time you can steal away to snuggle up with your sweet little one and share a book! See you all back on Tuesday!

Bad Weather Procedures
In case of bad weather, the Early Childhood School follows these procedures:
-Announcements will be made through the School Messenger call system, so please be sure that we have your correct telephone number and email address. If you have received a message from us this year, you should be fine. If you need to update your contact information, please email our data clerk, Veronica Mueller @ muellerve@friscoisd.org.
-If FISD is closed for any reason, the Early Childhood School will also be closed.
-If the district announces a 2 hour delayed start, the following schedule will be in effect:
-- All 3 hour day (7:40 and 11:40) classes will be cancelled.
-- All PSC, PLC, and PFIG classes will be cancelled.
-- Full Day classes will begin with a 2 hour delay and end at the regular time.
-- Morning transportation services will be provided with a 2 hour delay.
-- Dismissal transportation services will follow the normal schedule.
Please let your teacher or speech pathologist know if you have any questions about these procedures.

I want to hear from YOU!
Hey ECS Parents! I've created a new forum called The ECS Parent Place! As your child's principal, I want to make sure I keep open lines of communication with all of you! I'm hoping this will turn into a great forum where you can post questions, feedback, and praise so that I can stay better connected with you and your perspectives. I look forward to hearing from you! Just click this link and then look for the hot pink circle with the plus sign. Click on that and you're on your way! I'll keep an eye out so I can respond to your posts. Thanks!
