Writing

This week in writing we are talking and writing an expository text about someone or something that has done something amazing. We are doing an outline first and then we are writing a google doc. some students are writing about presidents, soccer players, artists, inventors, and Youtube stars.

Social Studies

This week we did a board builder. Board builder is on a website called Discovery Education. You get a blank board or a board you choose and add photos and videos. We did that all week, in the collaboration rooms. Now let's get in to what we really did. We did our board builder on the three branches of government! I was the Legislative branch. We learned all about the branches of government in other weeks too. This was a fun week, with two more to go!

Literacy

In literacy we did main idea and details. Main idea and details is when you find what the author is mostly talking about in the story or paragraph. The details are supporting details which is what supports the main idea. Then we watched a video and we made an inference. An inference is when you take your back round knowledge and what's in the text to find out what the author doesn't tell you. We also learned an inferring hand signal of what inferring is. We also watched a vocab power point and we did a white board vocab game. We also did a power point on plural possessive and a white board game for plural possessive too. The last thing we did was a Kahoot.

Mrs. Hassels' Math Class

Mrs. Price's Math Class

Monday we cut out fraction cards and solved them. After that we did a study guide. Tuesday we did the fifty fact test and checked are study guide after that we played math games. Wednesday we had a math test then when we were done with it we did front row. Thursday we did math stations so we played fraction top it in rotation one on rotation two we did a math page with Mrs.Price when rotation three came we finished the math page and then we did another math page. Friday we did a math page as a whole class then we split up into groups of two and did two other math pages on fractions.

Art

In art we had a sub. She let us do something different then what we were doing regularly with Mrs.Ricker. Instead of painting we drew a fish where we got to make the designs and backgrounds. We also got to decide on the type of fish we drew. Some people drew nemo and some drew completely other fish.

Music

In music this week we played rumble ball which is a game where depending on what the two people do in the center the instrument groups (drums, scrapers and shakers, woods and metals.) make different noises. When the ball is being bounced or caught the drums played. When they roll it on the ground the shakers and scrapers play. When they toss it in the air the woods and metals play. We also learned a

Canadian canoe song that goes "My paddles gleaming bright, flashing with silver, follow the wild goose flight, dip dip and swing, dip dip and swing her back, flashing with silver, swift as the wild goose flies, dip dip and swing." On the day we had a sub we played a game called encore. We played it boys verses girls. It is a game where the teacher gives us a word and the two teams have to think of a song with that word in it and sing that part of the song that has the word. We played six rounds and we tied. We also did rhythm wars which is where we clap our hands to the beats that show on screen.

PE

On Monday we had running day. We listened to music when we ran , and we didn't when we walked. On Tuesday we threw dodge balls at frisbees on cones and we had to knock them off. On Wednesday we played king of the castle. You had to knock pins out from under people in your court. The gym was divided into 4 courts. If your pin was knocked out from under you, you had to move clockwise to the next court. On Thursday we did relay races were we had to move dodge balls across the floor without the ball touching the floor. On Friday we played the same game we played on Thursday.
