Following The Class Schedules From Home...
From The Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Another week of learning is in the books. The focus for this upcoming week is: Following The Remote Learning Schedule. Although, we are heading in good direction, we can always do better. We are asking caregivers to help their children understand the importance of structure and schedule. The day starts with ensuring your child checks in with the remote homeroom teacher (attendance). Then a student's day is structured by their schedule. Remember, remote students meet with their teachers in the afternoon, and this is why it's so important for them to be working on their daily assignments. We are always here to assist, especially if there are questions. If we all work together, we can make the learning better for students.
On Monday and Tuesday of this coming week, Mr. Starczewski (DMS Principal) and I will be hosting Virtual Parent Town Hall meetings for each grade level. The purpose of the Town Hall meetings will be to provide an update of where we are now with our instructional model and explain potential adjustments moving forward (as outlined in Superintendent Lamarche's presentation to School Committee on 11/18). At the conclusion of our presentation we will provide a link to participants to elicit feedback on any questions that you may have as a result of the presentation. We will share out the questions and answers in a follow up communication to the school communities. We hope that you consider joining us.
All links will be added in the correspondence just before the scheduled meetings

Additional feedback regarding the progression with the DCRSD learning model has been solicited by District Office administration in the form of a parent survey. Teachers, staff and students are being provided with surveys as well. An updated presentation on a recommendation to the DCRSD School Committee will be made on December 9, 2020.

- Independent Remote Learning: Students access Google Classrooms for asynchronous learning opportunities. It’s important to note that as we continue to work out the norms of our remote learning model – our students will be strongly encouraged to develop the needed skills in Digital Literacy as well as Digital Citizenship. This will be very important as we move through the coming weeks. During the Remote Learning platform, all school expectations apply with respect to behavior, etc. What is acceptable in school is our benchmark for communications and interactions within the remote learning environment. Please remind your children of this – Thank You.
