WELCOME BACK!
We will begin our district's "Yellow" plan with cohorts next week. We are so excited to see all of our current and new Tigers! I want to thank you so much for your patience and the grace you have given us as we try to navigate through these difficult and unknown times. We are working hard to provide your child with the best possible education and experience under the current circumstances.
Your child's first official day back in the building next week will look different from the past. We are not allowing visitors to enter the building. With that being said, if your child is brand new to Poston Road Elementary, please know that we will take great care of your child while they are here at Poston. Please trust our process and know that our number one goal is to keep our students safe. If your child is entering preschool or KDG, I understand the apprehension you must be experiencing knowing that you have to drop your child off at the door without walking them to their room on the first day. Please know we are prepared to give your child the best experience. We will have "all hands on deck" to make sure your child makes it to their classroom.
Should you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me through DOJO, email or phone. Thank you for choosing Poston Road Elementary for your child's education.
Sincerely,
Jill Vlcan, Principal

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
- Doors open at 8:25AM (we do not have staff members available to supervise students before 8:25) Please DO NOT drop them off at the door prior to 8:25.
- Door 2 (by the cemetery) & Door 8 (by the car wash) are both options for drop off. It is your preference on which door you would like to drop your child off at. Please pull up along the sidewalk before letting your child out of the car. DO NOT allow your child to cross in front of cars. If your child is in preschool, kindergarten, or first grade, we would prefer that you drop off and pick up at Door #2.
Dismissal:
- Walkers will be dismissed out Door 2 & Door 8 first at 3:30PM.
- Next, the students riding buses and daycare vans will dismiss out of Door 2 at 3:35PM.
- Finally, car riders will be dismissed. If you are picking up your child, grades PK-1 (and older siblings) will be picked up at Door 2. Students in grades 2-4 will be picked up at Door 8. Please stay in your car as we will bring your child out to you.
