September Choral Newsletter

Special Message from Mrs. Robertson

Dear Parents and Students,

This 2015-2016 school year has gotten off to a great start! Students are making great progress as we continue to achieve our goal of musical excellence. Our 8th grade chorus students along with Five Forks Middle School 8th grade chorus were invited to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" to open the Gwinnett Braves game for our annual Brookwood Night. It was a wonderful evening and a great way to kick off the school year.

September is a special month for me. Not only do I get to celebrate my birthday, but I am incredibly blessed to welcome my son any day now. As I prepare for maternity leave, I wanted to thank each of you for your support and look forward to my return in November. I would like to introduce Mrs. Melanie Barnes as she steps in as my long-term sub. Mrs. Barnes graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor of music degree in the area of voice. Mrs. Barnes is certified to teach chorus and general music and brings years of classroom experience. I am glad to have her carry out my responsibilities and appreciate all parents and students for supporting her through this brief transition.

I anticipate great things for our choral program and continue to maintain high expectations for our students. I hope you enjoy the look of our new choral newsletter! Let's continue to build our choral community to create memorable experiences for our students while taking our choral program to the next level!
