International Night/Open House A Success!!

On Thursday evening, April 11, Shea High School combined our Open House with International Night. Before meeting with teachers, parents and students had the opportunity to watch students-and even in one case, parents perform a variety of acts in our auditorium. Performances such as dancing, drum playing and singing took place! At 6 p.m., teachers were available to meet with parents about students' progress. In addition, foods from all over the world were served our cafeteria. The night was informative, cultural and delicious all at the same time!!

The Freshmen Teams- Dr. Jacob and Mrs. Kane "Extremely Proud"

This has been a very busy year for the freshman teams. Some of the great events that took place include Field Day, A Magic Show with hypnotist Frank Santos, and a trip with Team 2 to the Boston Museum of Science. In addition, the freshmen class has consistently had the highest attendance rate this year of all the classes!!! The Class of 2016 ROCKS!!

Smile Club :) Participates in URI's High School Challenge Weekend!

The Shea Smile Club participated in the High School Challenge Weekend at the University of Rhode Island on March 22-23, 2013. There, the students participated on teams with students from other Rhode Island High Schools in building and racing solar powered vehicles. They engaged in discussions with admissions counselors, URI students in science and math majors, men and woman who work in the solar power field, and a guest speaker. Also, they ate in both cafeterias, toured the campus, and were able to spend time in the URI gymnasium and aquatics center.

That all sounds like something to smile about!!
