F.A.Q.'s -- by Mrs. Caldarera
I love perusing the Frequently Asked Questions tab on company websites. There are some common complaints and frustrations which consumers call or email customer service about, and I know they must get tired of answering the same questions REPEATEDLY. Don’t you wish you could create one of those FAQ tabs for your students' parents to refer to? For open house I plan to do just that!
Why did it take me so long to do this? I finally realized not only do I need to educate the
youth but also the parents on "all things art class". Things students experience in art class can be foreign to them. At home we know some students are still being “hand fed”
unfortunately. Many students are not used to having to problem solve, clean up, or go
back and refine their work. Some parents consider it cruel for their child to be challenged, make improvements to their work, or have high expectations placed on them. I make no apologies for any of it! I do what I do because I believe it is best for the students in the long run, not what is easy now. If I did not care for the growth and development of the students, I would not make the effort to do all these things.
So, what would you place in your FAQ tab? Check out my parent letter below to see mine!
