Week of Sept. 28th

We Are Stronger Together

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Here at FHES, through various forms of media and activities, we will highlight the importance of having a healthy school environment.

As a show of unity and support, October 14th will be Cardinal Unity Day. On this day, let's all wear our school colors to show unity and raise awareness about the harmful effects that bullying can have on a school.

Definition of Bullying:

Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.

See the link below for additional information & stay tuned for more info this week.

Do The Right Thing!

Notice a kiddo who does the right thing when no one is looking? Then nominate them today for Do The Right Thing! DTRT is a district-wide initiative that recognizes students who "do the right thing" in difficult situations.

If you notice a student "doing the right thing" and want to nominate them, email me their name and a description of how they "did the right thing". We'll nominate them via the official form and if they win, they and a guest will be treated to a special luncheon at The Firestone Grill.

Nominations for October are Due by October 21st.

Cardinal of the Month

It's time again for our monthly Cardinal of the Month celebrations! Teachers, please nominate 2 students from your classrooms via the link below. Think about from BOY until now. Please have all names submitted by 10/14.

Students to nominate are those who've exhibited stellar behavior, positive character, strong academic growth, and overall positive decision making. I will call for nominations each month.
