GDD Represents! The young men of GDD, Inc. have been representing SPMS and BHS throughout the county this semester. They have performed (stepped) at local events since the summer and at the CCSD Principal's LEAD meeting in December. GDD stands for Gentlemen of Duty and Distinction. Their sponsor is Mr. Gregory Gibbs and spends countless hours with these student to help them learn what brotherhood is about. The aim for these students is to exemplify strong character, strong academics, and service to others. | Meet Mr. Hammack Mr. Hammack is not new to the SPMS Staffulty, but he did step into a new role this year. He joined the administrative team taking on the duties of managing our Saturday Academy Program, helping establish our new middle school basketball team, and handling discipline for sixth grade and some 8th grade too. | New Experiences Our Panther Scholars have been busy during semester 1. They began their first Mock Trial Team with the support of the Curry Law Firm. They are photographers working to capture memories for our school's first yearbook! They are currently working on service projects in their Crew. At SPMS, we are working to expose our scholars to experiences that can be a launching pad for a bright future. |

New Experiences
SPMS Perform with BHS Bulldog Band! Our Panthers have been growing as musicians by practicing and performing in the Highsteeping Bulldog Band under the direction of Mr. Linard McCloud. | Breast Cancer Awareness Our school was in the "Pink" for Breast Cancer Awareness in October. | Sing! Members of our Staffulty met afterschool to start a choir. The group performed at the Ronald McDonald House and the D20 Holiday Extravaganza this past December. Thanks to Mr. Richard Wright for his time and talent in rehearsing the group and Dr. Creola Washington with the Teacher Love Project for putting it all together! |

Principal Spann
Here at SPMS, this statement is our call to action as we serve the middle school scholars of the Charleston Peninsula.
"We recognize that there are barriers between our ideals and our current outcomes. We create systems and structures that remove obstacles and create pathways for each student to thrive. We seek to be a safe and nurturing environment that embraces each individual's uniqueness and brilliance. We empower each student to perform at high levels with challenging work to build the strength of the school community. We believe in the promise of each student!"
Stephanie Spann, Principal
