2019 Blaze Bulletin
Week of February 4th - Edition 50
Teachers & Staff,
National School Counselor Week was this week, and I hope you all had a chance to send a kind word or two to our school counselors. They have worked hard this year and have gotten through some transition within the department with much grace! So thank you, thank you to Christine Bryan, Charlie Borel, JoJo Breiner, and Shannon Barber. Our subs, Elaine Allen and Kelly Conniff have also been fabulous!
These stellar women have dealt with some very tough issues with our students, and they were always flexible and willing and able to handle/help our students (and sometimes us!). And they served 2400+ students this year. That's right. These ladies have amazing Superpowers!

GO BLAZE!
THE EPIC SENIOR PRANK
Police Report
Date: Spring of 2007
Report by School Resource Officer Mark Meshotto
- I arrived at school one morning in the Spring of 2007, and the Administration and Media Center Specialists were visibly upset.
- I inquired about the issue. I was told that when the Media Center Specialists entered the Media Center (Library), it set off a chain reaction of dominos--- with the dominos being library books.
- Upon review of the School Cameras, we noticed 4 males in all black clothing entering from the court yard. Once they gained access to the Media Center, we could see them taking all the books off the shelves and standing them up like dominos. The four males left the Media Center the same way they entered.
- While we could not tell who the males were, because one of them had an unusual walk, we did identify him. Once he was identified, with the threat of a criminal charge and not being able to walk at graduation, he told us who the other three were.
- The son of the Principal at the time had knowledge of the incident, but for fear of his mother’s wrath, he did not participate.
- There were never charges, they did get to walk at graduation, but they did not receive their diplomas until they had completed 100 hours of community service at Blackman High that summer.
- Thus concludes the epic Senior Prank of 2007.

A-D Counselor: Mrs. Charlie Borel, E-K Counselor: Ms. Christine Bryan, L-R Interim Counselor: Ms. Kelly Conniff, S-Z Interim Counselor: Mrs. Elaine Allen, College and Crisis Counselor: Mrs. JoJo Breiner, Graduation Coach: Mrs. Kim Garrott, Counseling Secretary/Registrar: Mrs. Marina Sadler, Counseling Clerk: Mrs. Carole Kasbee
*Sophomore Registration will begin on Monday, February 11-February 14. Junior class meetings are Friday, February 15. Junior Registration is February 19-22. Freshmen registration begins in March. Since counselors will be out of their offices due to registration for so long, please call or email counselors before you send students down to the counseling center. We want to make sure that your student gets in touch with who they need and aren’t sent to an empty office😩 Encourage students to email us if it’s a question or issue that can be handled over email. Kim Garrott and JoJo Breiner will be in their offices but call or email them before sending students to them as well. They may have meetings that have already been planned and may not be available. If there is a student in distress, please email all of us and we will make sure someone can talk with that student. Thanks for working with us during this busy time!
*New Student/Freshmen Orientation will be on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:00.
*Senior Hiring Event is April 2.
We are so thankful to be part of this team! Go Blaze! 🔥
