A Message From The Principal
This time of year is nothing short of bustling with activity, and I am excited to share some highlights from this week that capture the dynamic spirit of our high school community. February, often synonymous with a whirlwind of academic and extracurricular engagements, marks a pivotal juncture in our academic calendar. It is not just a midpoint; it symbolizes the official shift towards looking ahead to the next academic year. This week, students completed course requests for next year and participated in an Electives Fair. This annual process opens the door to possibilities, allowing students to shape their academic journey and set the course for their future aspirations. As Semester 1 closes, this moment also provides a valuable opportunity for our students and educators to reflect on their accomplishments, challenges, and growth. The reflection process is an integral part of our commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that each student's academic experience is not only fulfilling but also responsive to their evolving needs. I look forward to our shared journey into the second half of this academic year.
Best,
Dana

Community-Wide Announcements & Reminders
End of Semester 1
Today marks the first day of semester 2. Grades for semester 1 closed yesterday, Thursday, 1/25 and progress reports will be posted on PowerSchool on Thursday, 2/1. Teachers will spend this interim period finalizing grades. We hope all our students had a great start to the new semester.
Creating Friendships for Peace
Creating Friendships for Peace Inc. is looking for families to host pairs of Jewish and Palestinian/Arab citizens of Israel during the second half of July and early August.
Creating Friendships for Peace is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization promoting friendships between teens from divided communities in the Middle East and the island of Cyprus, creating mutual respect and encouraging peace by building bridges for future generations.
Volunteer American host families provide a safe environment for hosting teen pairs, one from each side of their conflict. Throughout this program, they learn advanced leadership skills and share an impossible experience in their home countries.
While staying with their host families, the teens will participate in pre-planned activities to help build friendships and spend time with their host families experiencing life in the US.
CFP provides a unique opportunity to meet incredible people and share your culture and background while learning about their society and cultures. By hosting these teens, you will be helping to create long-lasting, meaningful friendships, a key ingredient toward achieving peace.
If you are interested in hosting or if you would like more information, please contact NH Coordinator Anne Clifton-Waite at annec@friendships4peace.org. You may also reach out by calling Anne at: 603-321-6447.
School Highlights
Electives Fair
On Friday, students in grades 9-11 participated in an Electives Fair! Prior to this event, students filled out a worksheet to help them figure out what classes they might be interested in next year and beyond. Between this Advisory preparation, consulting the Program of Studies and course selection presentations from our counselors, students were ready with questions and a list of courses to learn more about. The gym was bustling with students interacting with teachers and even some of our seniors as they learned more about the many different course offerings they have to choose from. Thank you to all the staff and students who helped make this event a success!
