Green Tree Elementary
Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow
Welcome Back Green Tree Gators!
Principal's Corner:
Our 2016-2017 school year is off to a fabulous start! The student's smiling faces, love of school and learning have been such a delight. Teachers worked hard to prepare their classrooms for everyone, paying close attention to each student’s interests and needs. We are already off to a great start of a new school year! I am very pleased with what our students and staff have accomplished.
The level of engagement and dedication of the Green Tree Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is to be commended. They have assisted in numerous projects that have aided in the successful start of the school year. Many parents and students worked hard on the beautification project during the summer. A huge thank you goes out to Mary Wright, Julie Redd, Windy Kimmell, Cynthia Madden, Angela Blake, Andrea Crislip and Dominque Ackley’s family. Below are pictures of some of the beautification projects.
Also, we would love to have all of our families be a part of the PTO. Please consider joining. See link below.
Green Tree’s main focus this year will continue to be to improving student academic achievement and providing them with a caring and safe environment. Our students did exceptionally well and made great gains last year. Way to go Gators! The Missouri’s Standardized testing window for the 2016-17 school year will be April 3 to May 26, 2017. Students will be tested within the allotted window. Students in 3rd and 4th grade will be tested in the areas of Math and English Language Arts (ELA) and 5th grade students will be tested in the areas of Math, ELA and Science.
Our door is always open for the students, parents and community members. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us at (636) 625-5600.

Stephanie Hysong
I am so excited to be a part of Green Tree Elementary and the Wentzville School District! My family and I moved back to the St. Charles area in July and are currently building a house in Wentzville which we will hopefully move in to in January. When I'm not working I love to spend time with my husband, Chris, and our 18 month old daughter, Evelyn. I also enjoy reading, shopping and working on whatever crafty project sounds like a good idea at the time .

- Please do not send your child to school until 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting.
- Students are strongly encouraged to return to class and generally are not sent home unless they have a fever, are vomiting, or have a serious injury.
DISTRICT POLICY RELATED TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION
In case you are unfamiliar with the school’s policy on the administration of medication to students by school personnel, we would like to bring you up to date on this matter. If
your child must have medication of any type given during school hours, including over the counter drugs, you have the following choices:
You may come to school and give the medication to your child at the appropriate time(s);
You may obtain a copy of a medication form from the school nurse. Take the form to your child’s doctor and have him/her complete the form by listing the medication(s) needed, dosage, and number of times per day the medication is to be administered. This form must be completed by the physician for both prescription and over the counter drugs. The form must be signed by the doctor.
All medicines must be delivered to school by the parent/guardian or a responsible adult. It must be in the pharmacy labeled bottle which contains instructions on how and when the medication is to be given and should not exceed a 30 day supply. Over the counter drugs must be received in the original container and will be administered according to the doctor’s written instructions.
You may discuss with your doctor an alternative schedule for administering medication (e.g., outside of school hours)
In the event of your child attending a field trip, a single dose of medication will be administered by a trained paraprofessional.
There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this policy. If you have questions about the policy, or other issues related to the administration of medication in the school, please contact the school nurse at the following number: 625-5600 ext.43233
