Hawk Snow Update...

The Weather Situation...

Good Afternoon. As you know by now, from the text alert, Holy Rosary Bilingual Academy is closed tomorrow. It could be a very interesting week with the forecast such as it is. As I write this, they are calling for 1” - 4” of snow, as well as freezing temps and breezy conditions tonight. Having just been out for a walk, I can say: check, check, and check (on snow, freezing temps, and wind). Then, starting tomorrow afternoon, a much larger storm is on its way with the possibility of more than 5” of snow, unless things warm up to create a snow/rain mix. Either way, it is going to be a mess! I will be watching the forecast, as well as other schools’ delays/closures closely, as we make plans for this week on a daily basis. How much of our time will need to be made up? It’s too early to tell since the storms aren’t over yet. Additionally, since our governor declared a state of emergency, that can impact snow day “make-ups” (requirements), as well. So, that is all TBD for now.

I hope that you are staying safe and the kids are enjoying this winter wonderland. Here are some pictures of the school this afternoon, thanks to Sister Hahn! I don’t think the Sisters were responsible for the “donuts” in the back lot. :)

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey

Principal
