Welcome Back Mallards!
We hope all of our mallards are having a safe and fun summer! We can't wait to welcome everyone back for the 2022-2023 school year! Below is information we hope you find helpful as we approach the start of school. We miss you all and look forward to seeing everyone soon!
Mrs. Andi Acuff, Principal
Mrs. Cassie Marquette, Assistant Principal
First Day of School & New School Hours
The first day of school is Monday, August 15th. Our new school hours will be 7:45am-3:10pm. Starting this school year, students will be released at 1:50pm on Wednesdays to allow for collaborative time for our teachers.
Bus Route Information
New bus stops will be implemented throughout the school district to help consolidate stops in an effort to provide timely and consistent transportation for students. This may mean your stop is further from your house than it has been in the past. Please use the link below to check out the transportation website for bus route information.
Monitor Back to School Social
Open House will be held on August 11th from 4:30pm-6:00pm. Students will find out who their teacher is at open house. You will also be able to pay your child's supply fee and find out bus information at this time. Come see your friends and stay for shaved ice and outdoor games as we kick off the new school year!
School Supplies
Because of a generous donation from our partners at First Church, all students will be provided the supplies needed to start the school year! Instead of purchasing supplies, we are asking that all students pay a supply fee of $9.99 to help replenish supplies throughout the school year. This fee will also include a school t-shirt and water bottle for each student. School supply fees can be paid online using the link below. Please disregard the lists at Wal-Mart. Students will also need to supply their own backpack, however backpacks are optional for our 5th grade students.
Kindergarten Round Up
All of our new kindergarten students are invited to join us on August 3rd for our kindergarten round up! New kindergarten students and their parents are invited to drop in between 9am and 3pm to meet our kindergarten teachers and see the school. Our kindergarten teachers will briefly work with your child to assess kindergarten readiness skills. We can't wait to meet our new mallards!
Apply for Free/Reduced Lunch
As you may have heard, the waiver that allowed free lunches for all students has expired. The good news is that, thanks to federal assistance, we will NOT have to increase the price of student lunch. A full price student lunch tray will cost $2.45. Reduced price lunch trays will cost $0.40 for those who qualify. All students will continue to receive free breakfast each day through the breakfast in the classroom program. Those who did not fill out a form and qualify last year will not have a grace period at the beginning of the school year and will be charged for lunch at the start of the year, so families are encouraged to fill out an application before the school year begins. To apply for free/reduced lunch, please use the link below.
