LVJHS Weekly Bulletin 4/04/2016
Dear LVJHS Family,
It takes all of us working together everyday to make great things happen for our students! We STAAR tested seventh and eighth grade students last week, and the process was nearly flawless. I was impressed with the focus and hardwork our students demonstrated throughout the process. Our teaching staff made sure students were prepared and administered assessments correctly, our technology staff took precautions to set up new computers prior to testing, central office staff provided testing support on our campus, and everyone did their job--and did it well.
Our students benefit from this high level of teamwork. Success never happens in isolation; it requires all of us working toward a common goal. We are fortunate to work in a district with a strong community and a committed staff.
Thank you all for making LVJHS a great place for students!

Staff Spotlight: Caylin Herley
We are proud to announce Mrs. Herley as our spotlight staff member for the week! Mrs. Herley does a wonderful job demonstrating and implementing successful instructional technology lessons and interactive programs in the classroom. We are very grateful for her skills! Additionally, Mrs. Herley served as a UIL coach this year for the campus as well as initiates hospitality meetings, ideas, and implementation of staff recognition. We appreciate her upbeat personality and commitment to her students. Great job Mrs. Herley!
Fundamental Five Focus...
Giving students an opportunity to process their learning in writing helps with later recall. Use the Fundamental 5 visual cues poster as a reminder to stop at least twice each class period allowing students to respond to a prompt. Critical Writing does not take long to do, but the benefits are BIG!
