PDE and PBS: Learning at Home
Parent Resources
PBS affiliate stations throughout Pennsylvania have partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and created Learning at Home. These efforts provide continuity of education opportunities throughout the Commonwealth.
Get connected to thousands of hours of educational and entertaining programs, videos, and games to support students, educators, and parents. Teachers, parents, and caregivers: please explore! We are in this #TogetherPennsylvania.
A six-part mini-series. Tuesdays at 9:00 AM: January 19 Health & Wellness; January 26 Social and Emotional Learning; February 2 Math; February 9 STEAM; February 16 Social Studies
HIGHLIGHTED RESOURCE:
Feelings can be hard for children to talk about. Often they demonstrate their feelings before they can use words to share them. As adults, we can often be proactive when we are crabby or tired or frustrated and change our behavior. Most children are still learning to navigate that. Helping children use words to describe what is happening inside them is an important part of Social and Emotional Learning. These words and messages can be taught and reinforced through music.

As part of Learning at Home, the seven PBS stations across the state have committed to broadcasting 20 hours per week of the same programs at the same time so that no matter where you or your students are in the state, programming will be consistent. Programming is aligned by grade bands and color-coded by PBS KIDS Learning Goals so that you can easily find the program that's right for your child/student.
BONUS: The links underneath each program provide access to supplemental learning materials related to the program (online and offline resources are available!)
