Last Week of School
A Message from Dr. K
Happy Monday hardly seems fitting in light of everything that has transpired in the world, near and far. What gives me an ounce of comfort is knowing that we, in education, have the ability to make certain that all children are treated with respect and dignity. It is a privilege that we have every single day to nurture a sense of personal worth and efficacy in all children.
This was not what we had hoped for our last week of school, but here we are with a roller coaster of emotions. Congratulations to all students for keeping focused and for continuing to learning in a new way. We are incredibly proud of each and every student. It was not easy for anyone and we got through it together - D41Strong! As we transition to summer, please know that I will forever look back on this first year as your superintendent with admiration and thanks to all. This is a special community and I have been honored to be a part of it from day one!
Over the summer months, we will be working hard to plan for the fall. I will keep in touch and let you know when plans become more clear. Thank you for your patience. As we begin to see it through Phase 3 and move into Phase 4, please stay safe and healthy. Have a fun summer and enjoy this special time with your families.
