A Message from Lisa
I hope your semester is off to a great start. Nice job last week on setting up expectations for hallway behavior. Please review again with students before they enter hallways again this week.
Below you will see information from our Carnival Chairs, Risë Minton and Sarah Anna. This committee is hard at work and we really appreciate their efforts.
The carnival will be from 3:00 - 6:00 on Saturday, April 18th. PTO is asking that you each volunteer 1.5 hours. In addition, I am asking that you each stay throughout the event to visit with our families and support our PTO. My expectation is that all professional staff members attend.

Carnival
Hi Powell Staff!
The carnival will be her soon and we are busy getting things ready to make it a great afternoon for our students and families! Please mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18th 3-6pm. More information will be coming regarding carnival, but we wanted to make you all aware of how we need your help well in advance. The PTO needs every staff member to volunteer 1.5 hours at the carnival. We will need staff for ticket sales & teacher raffle baskets. In addition, we will need staff to volunteer in the dunk tank. This will be broken into 30 minute increments. If you choose to volunteer for the dunk tank this will take the place of your 1.5 hours at the carnival ticket booths. Please consider what you would like to do and if you have any questions about either. We know your time is valuable and we appreciate your help to make this carnival a success! A signup genius for both options will be sent out after Boosterthon.
Silent Auction~ We have some amazing auctions items coming in this year! Some items that sell well are the class playground pictures and teacher for a day. If you are willing to donate your time to be used as an auction item please email Jessica Mumme. beegs80@aol.com Some examples would be: teacher for a day, lunch with teacher during school day etc. We realize this is a special request and is completely optional for the staff. Thank you in advance!
Questions~ Please do not hesitate to ask!
Thank you!

Cochran's Crossing Grant Contest
The Cochran’s Crossing Village Association is funding teacher grants again this year.
The Association will sponsor teacher grants at approximately $50.00 each. The number and dollar amount of the grant awards will depend upon the total number of applications received and the judgment of the selection committee. The teachers must complete an enclosed application form. The purpose of the grants is to allow the teachers to fund a project that they would like their classes to participate in and for which they have no other funding source. The deadline for turning in the application forms is January 13, 2020.
Application forms may be emailed to cynthia@kessinger.com. We will judge the applications as soon as possible and inform you of the results.
An awards ceremony will be held at the January quarterly meeting of the Village Association on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 7:00 PM at The Woodlands Township building located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd., unless otherwise notified. Teachers are encouraged to attend. We will ask the teachers in attendance to introduce themselves and share a short summary of how the requested funds will be used. The check payable to the school will be presented at the meeting. The amount of the total budgeted award that each participating school receives will be determined based upon the overall level of participation.
