The Skipper Scoop
Week of June 3rd
SKIPPER NATION
We made it! Graduation on Friday night was magical for so many reasons. Our graduates were bursting with a mix of nervous energy and pride. They made us all proud walking across that stage receiving those diplomas. It was wonderful to see them with their loved ones after the ceremony as well.
Thank you to all the community groups that provided thousands of dollars in scholarships for our kids. Your generosity is what makes this community so special.
This first year principal thanks you for your support and ideas. I appreciate you sharing your students with is and trusting us to educate and support them. I sincerely hope you have a wonderful summer. This is the last Skipper Scoop for awhile. See you in August!
Mrs. Rumbarger
McKinley walk
Our seniors headed over to their favorite elementary school last Wednesday. They walked the halls in caps and gowns slapping hands and giving high fives to students and their former teachers. Thank you McKinley for all the love and support you have given these students.

Senior Trip
The Senior class headed to Scene 75 for their Senior trip last week. Our Senior class advisers Mrs. Holbrooks and Mrs. Jurick, along with Mr. Luster accompanied the kids on this special trip to celebrate the end of the year. Scene 75 offers bowling, virtual reality, go-karts, laser tag, and pretty much anything else you could imagine.
Positive Behavior Sports Event Day
Our final PBIS event took place last week. It started with a picnic lunch outside. Kids signed up for various activities and tournaments. There was a three on three basketball tournament as well as a corn hole tournament that got pretty competitive! Some kids choose a variety of board games to play and there were kickball and volleyball games as well. Thanks to the staff for taking on this huge undertaking. A great time was had by all.
Excellence Awards
The Excellence Awards for our high school kids was a celebration of accomplishments. Awards were given by community corporations as well as teachers and coaches. Congratulations to all of our kids for a successful year in academic as well as athletics.
Senior Fair
Our seniors have spent the last two weeks on a work internship experience. Local sponsors helped our students see what experiences and requirements are needed in their specific field. A few of the sponsors included Jemm construction, the Steris corporation, Riverside Local Schools, Lake Health, Arastasia Photography, as well as our very own McKinley elementary! The seniors came together after the Excellence Awards and displayed their experiences in the gym. Thanks Seniors for sharing your experiences and being awesome representatives of FHS.
Special shout out to Mrs. Sheila Holbrookâs for her endless dedication to the Seniors and their experience.
Congratulations Mrs. Tyler and Mrs. Lucas
A HUGE congratulations to these two stellar McKinley teachers. Mrs. Lucas has worked at McKinley elementary for 35 years and we thank her for everything she has done for our district. Mrs. Tyler has worked in Fairport for 20 years and we celebrate her accomplishments and retirement.
